Case Study: Launching Rise’n Roll’s New Cake Donut Flavors

The Challenge:
Rise’n Roll, celebrated for their famous yeast donuts, introduced three new cake donut flavors and needed a social media campaign to announce the launch and drive in-store sales. With a loyal fanbase already active on their social accounts, the challenge was to create a buzzworthy, effective campaign in just four weeks.

My Role:
As the account manager, I collaborated with my team to develop a compelling message, creative assets, and a strategy that would capture attention and translate to tangible results for the client.

Strategy & Approach:
We began with a brainstorming session to explore messaging and design concepts. With the launch happening around Easter, initial ideas leaned heavily into seasonal themes like spring and heaven-like imagery. However, we realized these directions risked diluting the main focus: the introduction of cake donuts.

To maintain clarity and impact, we simplified the messaging to a bold, straightforward statement: “Cake is here.” This approach ensured the product itself remained the hero of the campaign.

Creative Direction:
The design was crafted to be vibrant and eye-catching, using bright spring colors to grab attention while staying on-brand. We incorporated real ingredients and high-quality, product-focused photography to highlight the deliciousness of the new flavors. The visuals were paired with engaging, upbeat copy, and we spiced things up with playful GIFs to enhance the campaign’s energy.

Results:
The campaign resonated with Rise’n Roll’s audience, maintaining a strong social engagement rate of 4.1%, a 10% increase from their average engagement rate. By keeping the focus on the excitement of the new product and delivering visually stunning, targeted content, we successfully drove interest and in-store visits, proving that sometimes, simplicity and clarity are the keys to success.
